The latest bulletin [December 2024] of the Société d’histoire du Plateau-Mont-Royal (our sister organization) focuses on historic, cultural and heritage aspects of people of Jewish origin living in the borough. It was guest-edited by two members of Mile End Memories. Our next activity will be a roundtable discussion by some of the contributors, including:

  • Pierre Anctil, The Keneder Odler: Montreal’s Yiddish daily newspaper, 1907–1970
  • Josh “Socalled” Dolgin, From hip-hop to klezmer, evolution of a Jewish musician
  • Yves Desjardins, The Seigler clinic: collaboration between a Québécois civil servant and a Jewish alderman during a time of anti-Semitism
  • Joshua Wolfe, Preservation of the Bagg Street shul: A priest, an atheist and a shamis walk into a synagogue…
