Van Horne Warehouse redevelopment: What’s the current situation?

1 Van Horne / Nathalie Tremblay 2025

The Main and Mile End Memories invites you to a presentation on the transformation and reuse of the Van Horne Warehouse, one of Mile End’s most recognizable visual landmarks in Mile End. Although citizen activism has led to an improved project—enhanced in terms of respect for its heritage value and the proposed uses—the project continues to raise concerns and opposition.

Architect Nathalie Tremblay, who collaborated on the drafting of the statement of heritage interest for St. Lawrence Warehousing  commissioned by the City in 2023, and Joshua Wolfe, (former commissioner at the OCPM), will explain how the architectural design and certain other elements of the last project have improved, but several questions remain. They will present the recommendations issued by the OCPM following last fall’s consultation and will discuss the next steps in the municipal evaluation of the project, which will lead — or not — to its approval.
