Presentations in French, bilingual question period<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday 23 February, 2 pm :\u00a0<strong>Histories of Greek immigration<\/strong>. Le Mile End fut, du d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1950 jusqu\u2019aux ann\u00e9es 1970, l\u2019un des principaux quartiers d\u2019accueil de la communaut\u00e9 grecque montr\u00e9alaise. Le projet Immigrec a recueilli les m\u00e9moires de ceux et celles qui s\u2019y install\u00e8rent \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une vie nouvelle. Ce projet a donn\u00e9 naissance au Mus\u00e9e virtuel de l\u2019immigration grecque au Canada, que nous serons heureux de vous pr\u00e9senter au cours de cette conf\u00e9rence.<br \/>\nImmigrec a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 par un consortium form\u00e9 par des chercheurs de quatre universit\u00e9s (McGill, Simon Fraser, York et Patras en Gr\u00e8ce). Il a recueilli des centaines de t\u00e9moignages de Grecs ayant immigr\u00e9 au Canada entre 1945 et 1975. On perd souvent trop rapidement la m\u00e9moire des commerces et des lieux qui ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 son identit\u00e9. Nous vous proposons, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une projection de nombreuses photos d\u2019\u00e9poque du quartier, de d\u00e9couvrir les traces laiss\u00e9es par ces lieux de m\u00e9moire.
