The\u00a0March\u00e9 des Possibles<\/a>, Mile End\u2019s summer gathering place, is back for a third\u00a0year! The market is produced by\u00a0POP Montr\u00e9al<\/a>\u00a0in collaboration with the\u00a0Arrondissement du Plateau Mont-Royal<\/a>.\u00a0Mile End Memories<\/b>\u00a0will be there with an information table, a history presentation, and of course walking tours of the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The market takes place each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 17 June to 7\u00a0August 2016, in the space next to the Saint-Louis Arena \u2013\u00a0on Saint-Dominique Street near Bernard.<\/p>\n

Our information table will be the meeting place for the tours, which will last about two hours and loop back towards the market. At the end of these trips through time, you\u2019ll be able to continue the discussion at the market\u2019s Biergarten.<\/p>\n

If you wanted to take your friends from afar on a tour of the neighborhood, there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019d go for a walk on Saint-Viateur and Bernard Streets. That\u2019s what we\u2019ll do on this tour \u2013\u00a0for behind the effervescent street life of today we can make out the shadows of the past: great ambitions, big changes, decline and renewal.<\/p>\n

    East of Saint-Laurent Boulevard, massive concrete factory buildings were built between 1965 and 1975. In their shadow can be found the ghosts of even earlier industrialization, which spurred the urbanization of Mile End. Today, a concentration of artists unique in Canada springs forth from the concrete.<\/p>\n

    This tour will offer keys to understanding a varied urban landscape where many structures \u2013 including the forecourt of an old station, a public bath, and a monastery \u2013 stand next to the megastructures.<\/p>\n
