1. WALKING TOUR: WESTERN MILE END<\/strong><\/p>\n

Susan Bronson, architect and historian<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Discover the rich history of Western Mile End (between Hutchison Street and Saint-Laurent Boulevard), including the 19th<\/sup>-century agricultural and industrial exhibition grounds and early 20th<\/sup>-century rowhousing, mixed-use buildings and places or worship, as well as the many personalities and cultural communities who helped to shape this unique urban vernacular landscape over time. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Date and time:
\n<\/em>Sunday 15 May 2011, 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Departure point:
\n<\/em>South-east corner of Park Avenue and Mount Royal Avenue (80, 97 or 11 bus, m\u00e9tro Mont-Royal)<\/strong><\/p>\n

End point:
\n<\/em>Corner of Park Avenue and Bernard Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. MILE END MEMORIES ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday 18 May 2011 at 6:00 p.m.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

At Al-Boutik, 148 Fairmount Street West, Montr\u00e9al<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

During the AGM, a summary of activities carried out in 2010 and the action plan for 2011 will be presented and the election of Board of directors will take place. <\/strong>A snack of Sahara delicacies will be served. <\/strong>All those on MEM\u2019s mailing liste are invited to attend the AGM and become members of MEM without charge. The agenda<\/a> and the minutes<\/a> of the meeting will be available on the website (<\/strong>www.mile-end.qc.ca<\/a><\/strong>) and upon request. <\/strong><\/p>\n
