Discover the rich history of Eastern Mile End (between Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Saint-Denis Street, Mount Royal Avenue and Saint-Viateur Street). We will explore the urban, cultural and social development and the architecture and conservation of the dense vernacular landscape that occupies part of the former property of Dr. Pierre Beaubien. Among the highlights of this tour are the Church of Saint-Enfant-J\u00e9sus and several religious and educational institutions near the heart of the former village of Saint-Louis du Mile-End, the Carmelite Convent, rowhousing dating to the late 19thth<\/sup>-century, the early 20th<\/sup>-century and the last 15 years, the megastructures built in the 1960s and 1970s for the garment industry, and the former railway yard known today as \u201cChamp des possibles.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe tour will be offered once only, on Sunday. Questions and discussion in either English or French.<\/span>
