The next activity of Mile End Memories <\/span> will take place on <strong>Saturday 1 October 2011<\/strong>, as part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.journeesdelaculture.qc.ca\/pages-systeme\/journees-de-la-culture-2.html\">Journ\u00e9es de la culture<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationpatrimoine.com\/en_index2011.html\">Montreal Architectural Heritage Campaign<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong> Rialto Theatre Restoration Project <\/strong><br \/>\nEzio Carosielli and Pierre Beaupr\u00e9, architect<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Rialto, a 1924 movie palace, is currently undergoing restoration that will gradually bring back its original splendor. The current owner, Mr. Ezio Carosielli, will speak of his intention to make the theatre accessible to the Mile End and Montreal community. The architect Mr. Pierre Beaupr\u00e9 will present the architectural choices made for the restoration of this building \u2013 a heritage site both federally and provincially \u2013 but which has been modified over the years with less concern for its architectural heritage. The presentation will be followed by an opportunity to walk around the theatre.
