The Walkable City: From Haussmann’s Boulevards to Jane Jacobs’ Streets and Beyond – with Mary Soderstrom

You are invited to a reading-discussion of The Walkable City: From Haussmann’s Boulevards to Jane Jacobs’ Streets and Beyond by Mary Soderstrom, who knows Mile End and Outremont well because she has lived, worked and shopped there for decades. Recently published by Véhicule Press, The Walkable City, a follow-up to Mary’s Green City: People, Nature and Urban Places (Véhicule Press, 2007), invites us to walk the neighbourhoods of Paris, New York, Toronto and Vancouver to learn about how cities can be organized.

Place: Mile End Library, 5434 Park Avenue, south of Saint-Viateur (bus 80)
Cost: Free
