Our last indoor activity of the season at the Mile End library: Artistes indépendants et producteurs culturels du Mile End, quelle cohabitation? will be held on Sunday 13 April at 2 pm. This round table will surely result in a compelling debate, because of the members of the panel and the questions to be discussed. The panelists:
- Mistaya Hemingway, of Mile End Memories, moderator
- Mouna Andros and Melissa Mongiat, founders, Daily tous les jours
- Miranda Campbell, author (Out of the Basement) and cultural policy analyst
- Jean-Philippe Grou, director of communications, Ubisoft
- Richard Ryan, city councillor for Mile End district
- Daniel Seligman, cofounder and artistic director, Pop Montréal.
And the questions:
- What made you choose Mile End for creation/production/performance?
- What are the advantages of the neighbourhood that encourage its development as a cultural centre, and inversely, what obstacles are there to this development?
- How can the diversity necessary for the creative explosion in the area be maintained?
- How can we envision coexistence between independant artists and larger cultural enterprises?
- Are sponsorships a mechanism worth exploring to enhance this coexistence?
