Lecture: ICI un souvenir – Patsy Van Roost

Patsy Van Roost is a multidisciplinary artist who has developed a form of public art based on the active participation of residents of the neighborhood. Nicknamed “la fée du Mile End”, Patsy has recently produced a series of works such as “La petite fille aux alumettes”, “La mer dans le Mile End”, “Vous êtes ici”, and most recently “Where Love Flows”.

Last fall, with the support of the borough, she created “ICI un souvenir”. Mile End Memories participated in the project which had the most appropriate aim of collecting memories of the Plateau Mont-Royal.

Come and meet Patsy at the Mile End Library at 2 pm on Sunday 9 March. She will talk about the origin and the evolution of her “participative art” projects which help reinforce a feeling of community in the area. You’ll be able to ask her about her past, present and future projects! And we’ll reveal at this time how Mile End Memories and Patsy are planning to preserve the memory of “ICI un souvenir”.
