Lecture: Mile End’s Railway Landscape

Justin Bur, M. Urb.

Since its construction in 1876, the railway has influenced the development of Mile End. After participating in the conquest of the Laurentians and the Canadian West, the line through Mile End fostered an industrial corridor during the 20th century. The industrial landscape that remains today is at the heart of current urban redevelopment projects.
