There are a few fragmentary indications of First Nations presence. We have a good idea of the geology of the plateau on the east side of the mountain and reasonable hypotheses about the streams and watercourses. We can make a plausible reconstruction of the road system and the property lines, as well as economic activity such as pasturing, tanneries, quarries and orchards. This will give an overall portrait of the evolution of this area on the north side of Montreal before its urbanization.
